Amongst the golfing gems to be discovered in Waterford region are: Mount Juliet, designed by Jack Nicklaus and host of the 2002 and 2004 American Express World Golf Championships, which was described by Tiger Woods as having ‘perfect fairways’ and some of the ‘best greens’ that he has ever putted on;  Waterford Castle Golf Club, designed by Des Smyth and Ireland’s only true island golf resort - you even have to catch a private ferry to tee off!
